Mesa's Man and Woman of the Year Award

This special award is given each year to a man and a woman who have made a significant difference in our community in a broad ranging variety of volunteer efforts. Life in our community, and the lives of others, have been enhanced through their service and excellence of leadership.  If you know of such persons and would like to nominate them for this year's award, please go to the Menu and print and use the Nomination Form listed there.

Instructions: complete the Nomination Form in its entirety and mail it to

Nominations must be received of post-marked on or before November 30, 2009.

Criteria for Selection: A successful nominee for Mesa's Man or Woman of the Year will have demonstrated the following:

- Committed a greater than usual amount of time and effort to volunteer service (i.e.,    willingness to go the extra mile for others;

- Set positive examples and motivation for others;

- Clearly provided leadership excellence;

- Although Mesa residency is not required, it may, nevertheless, be considered in the process.

The most important areas of service - and, the order in which they will most likely be considered - are:

- Local, community-related service;
- Local church or service club related service;
- Regional, County/State/National/ World service.

Narrative:  Using the criteria for the award, please provide a short, written narrative which explains why you feel your nominee should be considered for the award. Explain, with specific examples, how the nominee has distinguished him/herself through significant accomplishments in volunteer service.  Include names of organizations, years of service, leadership roles, honors, awards and noteworthy service contributions.

Please enclose your narrative with the Nomination Form. If you wish to do so, please attach copies of any letters of endorsement of the nominee.
